Campaign Planning

A content plan is a coordinated set of posts across multiple platforms, designed to deliver a consistent message to your audience over days or weeks. Social Neuron helps you build plans faster, keep your team aligned, and measure what works.

What Is a Content Plan?

A content plan groups related posts into a single campaign. Instead of publishing one-off posts, you plan a week (or more) of content around a theme, launch, or ongoing strategy. Each plan includes:

  • Posts for multiple platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, and more)
  • Scheduled dates and times for each post
  • Platform-specific adaptations of your core message
  • Approval status for team workflows

Creating a Plan

Manual Planning

Drag and drop posts onto a calendar view. You control every detail:

  1. Pick your platforms and date range
  2. Add posts to specific time slots
  3. Write or generate captions for each post
  4. Attach media (images, videos, carousels)
  5. Review the full plan before scheduling

AI-Generated Plans

Describe your goal and let AI build the plan for you:

  1. Enter a campaign objective (e.g., "Launch our summer collection" or "Grow LinkedIn followers by 20%")
  2. Select the platforms you want to target
  3. Choose a date range
  4. AI generates a complete plan with post ideas, captions, and suggested posting times
  5. Review, edit, and approve before anything goes live

AI-generated plans respect your Brand Brain profile. If you have set up your brand voice and content pillars, every generated post will follow your guidelines automatically.

Multi-Platform Coordination

The same campaign message sounds different on LinkedIn than it does on TikTok. Social Neuron adapts your content for each platform while keeping the core message consistent:

PlatformAdaptation
LinkedInProfessional tone, longer format, industry hashtags
Twitter / XConcise, conversational, trending hashtags
InstagramVisual-first, story-friendly captions, branded hashtags
TikTokCasual, hook-driven, trend-aware
YouTubeSEO-optimized titles and descriptions
FacebookCommunity-focused, shareable format

You can edit any individual post after generation. Platform-specific changes do not affect posts on other platforms within the same plan.

Team Approval Workflows

For teams, every plan can go through an approval process before anything is published:

  1. Draft -- Creator builds the plan
  2. Submitted -- Plan is sent for review
  3. In Review -- Reviewers can approve or reject individual posts
  4. Approved -- Plan is cleared for scheduling
  5. Scheduled -- Posts are queued at their designated times

Reviewers can leave comments on individual posts, request changes, or approve the entire plan at once.

Approval workflows are available on Team plans. On Starter and Pro plans, the plan creator can schedule directly without a review step.

Scheduling Strategies

Best Posting Times

Social Neuron suggests optimal posting times based on:

  • Your audience's historical engagement patterns
  • Platform-specific peak hours
  • Timezone of your target audience
  • Day-of-week trends

You can accept the suggested times or override them manually for any post.

Timezone Handling

All scheduled times are displayed in your local timezone. When posting to platforms with a global audience, the scheduler accounts for your target audience's timezone to maximize reach.

Queue Management

The post queue shows everything that is scheduled, in progress, or published:

  • Upcoming -- Posts waiting to be published
  • In Progress -- Posts currently being processed
  • Published -- Posts that have gone live with links to the live content
  • Failed -- Posts that encountered errors, with retry options

Measuring Results

After a campaign runs, track its performance from the plan view:

MetricWhat It Tells You
ImpressionsHow many people saw your content
EngagementsLikes, comments, shares, and saves
Engagement rateEngagements divided by impressions
Follower changeNet new followers gained during the campaign
Top-performing postWhich post resonated most with your audience

Compare campaign performance over time to identify which themes, formats, and platforms drive the best results for your brand.

The Closed Loop

Campaign planning in Social Neuron is not a one-and-done workflow. Analytics from completed campaigns feed directly back into future planning:

  1. Publish -- Your campaign goes live across platforms
  2. Measure -- Analytics are captured automatically at regular intervals
  3. Learn -- The system identifies which topics, tones, and formats performed best
  4. Improve -- Your next AI-generated plan incorporates those learnings

Each campaign builds on the last. Over time, your plans get more targeted and your content performs better.

Autopilot Mode

For recurring content needs, Autopilot takes campaign planning to the next level. Set your rules and let the system handle the rest:

  • Content rules -- Define topics, frequency, and platforms
  • Brand guardrails -- Autopilot follows your Brand Brain profile for every post
  • Schedule patterns -- Post daily, three times a week, or on a custom cadence
  • Review gate -- Optionally require approval before each post goes live

Autopilot is ideal for brands that need a consistent posting schedule but do not have time to manually plan every piece of content.

Autopilot still deducts credits for each piece of generated content. Monitor your credit balance on the dashboard or set up low-balance alerts in settings.
